ITALIAN BAGS WHOLESALE · MADE IN ITALY SOURCING FOR INTERNATIONAL BUYERS
Buyer sourcing guide

A better supplier search starts with a better buying brief.

Italian bag sourcing becomes much easier when the buyer communicates commercial priorities clearly. A short but disciplined brief can save days of generic exchanges and help suppliers answer with realistic products, prices and production conditions.

1. Define the commercial position before the product list.

State where the bags will be sold, the intended customer, approximate retail or wholesale price range, and whether the project is wholesale, Private Label or White Label. This gives the supplier context for every subsequent decision.

2. Narrow the product family.

“Women’s bags” is too broad. Specify whether you need totes, crossbody bags, shoulder bags, evening bags, backpacks, work bags or a coordinated family. Include dimensions or reference images when they are important.

3. Be explicit about materials.

Leather type, fabric, raffia, straw, faux leather, lining, hardware finish and color all influence price and lead time. If you are flexible, say so. A supplier may have a commercially better alternative.

4. Discuss quantities early.

State the approximate total order, number of styles and desired color split. “Low MOQ” has no universal meaning; the same quantity can be easy for one manufacturer and impractical for another.

5. Separate sampling from production.

Ask about sample cost, timing, revisions and what is needed before bulk production. For customized projects, this is often where the real feasibility of the relationship becomes clear.

6. Clarify logistics and documentation.

Confirm production lead time, packing, shipping terms, origin information, export documentation and the point at which the supplier considers the goods ready for collection or dispatch.

Buyer questions

Questions buyers often ask

Should I ask every supplier for the lowest price first?

No. Price comparisons are useful only when product, materials, quantities, terms and quality expectations are reasonably comparable.

How many suppliers should I contact?

Enough to understand the market, but not so many that the brief becomes generic. A smaller shortlist of relevant companies usually produces better discussions.

What should I send with the first inquiry?

A concise brief covering product type, target price, quantities, market, timing and whether you need wholesale, Private Label or White Label is usually enough to start.
